Title 24
WHY IS INDOOR AIR QUALITY IMPORTANT?
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is the air quality in and around your facility and it relates to how it affects the health and safety of your facility’s occupants. A facility with poor indoor air quality can expose its occupants to pollutants, allergens, and bacteria.

HOW DO YOU IMPROVE INDOOR AIR QUALITY?
An easy way to improve your facility’s IAQ through HVAC is to regularly clean and change your system’s air filters, regular inspections and repairs to your system through annual maintenance visits to increase your facility’s indoor air comfort. When your HVAC system receives regular high-quality maintenance, your facility will have fewer indoor air quality problems.
HOW DO WE INCREASE ENERGY EFFECIENCIES?
Your building’s overall energy efficiency is affected by many things: air distribution, heating, cooling, lighting and controls. Making all of these systems work efficiently together within your facility is a way to ensure that all of your building’s systems are installed as designed and work together in harmony to optimize your overall efficiency.

Increase Air Quality in Schools
California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program - CalSHAPE
In September 2020, Governor Newsom signed AB-841 into law, resulting in a grant program for CA public schools to fund repairs and replacements of inefficient HVAC and ventilation systems. With the focus on health and safety, water conservation and energy reduction, for vulnerable communities we have dedicated our resources to help facilitate and assess the Districts current air control situations and devise a plan
WHAT IS TITLE 24 AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Title 24 California Building Standards Code is a broad set of requirements for “energy conservation, green design, construction and maintenance, fire and life safety, and accessibility” that apply to the “structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems” in a building. Title 24 was published by the California Building Standards Commission and applies to all buildings in California, not just state-owned buildings.
